Michele Sutton CBE delivered a fascinating talk at our summit, alongside a panel of education professionals, comparing education across the UK.

Michele Sutton has had a very varied and successful career in further education since the early 1980s. She is currently a non-executive director providing expert governance support and guidance to organisations in the education and skills sector and is on the Board of the AoEA.
Dame Sue John was the headteacher of Lampton School in Hounslow from 1997 to 2015. She has held directorships at the Brilliant Club, DfE, Future and Teaching Leaders and is currently the Chair of the South London Teaching School Hub and Charles Dickens Research School.
Mary Lowery spent twelve years in senior leadership in Malone College, Belfast, a multi-cultural post-primary school. She is an Associate of the Association of Education Advisers, a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching and a co-founder and regional lead of @WomenEdNI.
Fiona Robertson joined Midlothian Council as Executive Director Children, Young People & Partnerships in January 2020, from her former role as Head of Education and Children’s Services in East Lothian Council.
Kevin Palmer is currently a Deputy Director in Welsh Government for Pedagogy, Leadership and Professional Learning. His policy areas include Initial Teacher Education, NQT Induction and Professional Learning for all teachers and leaders, but also education research policy, pedagogy and innovation.
