As 2024 comes to a close, our Executive Chair, Les Walton CBE, reflects on an extraordinary year for the Association of Education Advisers (AoEA). From celebrating our milestones to calling for systemic innovation, his message highlights the profound impact of the AoEA accredited Quality Standard as a benchmark for excellence in education improvement.
Celebrating Key Achievements in 2024:
- Accreditation Success: This year, we accredited 82 Associates and 16 Senior Associates, bringing the total number of school leaders and advisers engaging with the standard to nearly 600.
- Global Recognition: The AoEA’s Quality Standard gained international acclaim at events such as GESS Dubai and the UNITED Conference in the U.S., alongside endorsements from national organisations and policymakers across the UK and beyond.
- Thought Leadership: The launch of The Education Adviser series, including Advising on School Improvement, has shaped national discussions on the role of high-quality advice in school improvement.
- Enhanced Member Support: With the relaunch of the AoEA Hub, new professional learning modules, and a growing repository of almost 1,000 case studies, we’ve strengthened resources for education advisers worldwide.
The Case for the AoEA Quality Standard
Les Walton’s message underscores the urgent need for policymakers to adopt the AoEA Quality Standard as a proven framework for improving education systems. Independent, accredited advisers bring evidence-based guidance that enhances outcomes for schools, students, and communities.
