Dave joined Northumberland County Council January 2016 after 21 years in secondary school education, including 18 years in leadership positions. He is currently the Head of School Improvement – leading a team of specialist advisers and managing a range of other education services.

Dave works in all phases of schools on aspects of leadership and school improvement. This includes governance, headteacher appraisal, coaching and mentoring, and acting as a school improvement partner.

Dave provides professional challenge and support to schools, helping its leadership to evaluate performance, identify priorities for improvement, and plan effective change. He can act as a critical friend and strategic guide to all levels of school leaders.

Dave will provide pragmatic advice and sensible suggestions. And if he doesn’t know the answer the team around him will!
