Every year, the Connecting Educators Summit brings together the brightest minds in education advice, leadership, and school improvement. Hosted by the Association of Education Advisers (AoEA), this flagship event is more than just a conference — it is a dynamic space where ideas flourish, practice is shared, and the future of education advice is shaped.
The Summit is a powerful expression of our mission: Connecting Educators and Raising the Quality of Education Advice. It is where advisers, consultants, school leaders, and education professionals come together to learn, connect, and inspire one another.
Our keynote sessions are delivered by renowned educational thinkers, policy-makers, and practitioners. These inspiring speakers set the tone for the day, exploring the big questions facing education today and offering bold, thought-provoking perspectives. Delegates have previously heard from influential figures such as Professor Mel Ainscow, Michael Fullan, and Baroness Estelle Morris — all of whom brought energy, expertise, and challenge to our conversations.
These sessions are not only informative but galvanising — encouraging attendees to reflect on their own practice, consider the wider educational landscape, and think ambitiously about the role of advisers in driving systemic improvement.
Our panel discussions bring together experienced professionals from across the education sector — including advisers, school and trust leaders, inspectors, and representatives from government and professional bodies. These sessions are highly interactive, exploring pressing issues such as leadership, governance, school improvement strategy, and the evolving role of education advisers.
Chaired by respected voices in the sector, each panel provides a forum for diverse viewpoints, constructive debate, and shared learning. Delegates are encouraged to participate, pose questions, and contribute to a lively and enriching dialogue that respects the complexity of the issues while seeking practical solutions.
One of the most valued aspects of the Summit is our Sharing Great Practice sessions, where AoEA associates present their own work and experiences. These sessions are rooted in real-world advisory practice — showcasing successful interventions, innovative approaches, and lessons learned from working directly with schools and education providers.
By highlighting the achievements of our members, these sessions offer both inspiration and practical insight. Delegates gain access to examples of what works, how challenges are overcome, and how advisers can adapt strategies to their own contexts.
