EduKIT date: 18 May 2027
This EduKIT will be hosted by Kyle McCallan MBE, Headmaster of Lurgan College, Northern Ireland.
This session presents a strategic case study on replacing rigid, bureaucratic tracking systems with an agile, proactive digital intervention model at Lurgan College. Appointed Headmaster in 2022, Kyle McCallan has led a strategic transformation of tracking and pupil intervention to better meet the needs of all pupils in real time. The session details how real-time data integration – combining CAT4, PASS, focused pupil tracking, and teacher professional judgment – has been used to build a sustainable, high-performing climate. Through the design of a new online pupil support dashboard and comprehensive staff training, the vision for closing the attainment gap for all pupils has been defined, developed, and embedded over a three-year School Development Plan cycle. This strategic focus has not only improved pupil outcomes but has also enhanced both pupil and staff well-being – evidenced by PASS attitudinal survey data and indicators from the EA’s Being Well, Doing Well audit – all during a challenging period of industrial action and widespread workload pressures across Northern Ireland.
The AoEA Keeping in Touch meeting is a way for members to listen to guest speakers, share knowledge, best practice and have a forum where you can discuss with your peers any areas of concern or support you require.
