Resilience in a World of Unprecedented Uncertainty – Dr Kevin Palmer
Dr Kevin Palmer delivered an engaging presentation along with a panel of speakers, discussing how to show resilience in the face of uncertainty

Dr Kevin Palmer is Deputy Director of Pedagogy, Leadership and Professional Learning in Welsh Government. His portfolio includes Initial Teacher Education, Research, Professional Learning, Leadership, the Professional Standards and A Levels.
Gwyneth Evans was appointed as the founding Principal of one of the first all-through schools in England in 2009 until 2018. Her educational interests include leadership, learning and teaching and professional learning.
David Jenkins is the Acting Executive Headteacher of Ysgol Ty Coch and Parklane Special Schools in Rhondda Cynon Taf, South Wales. He has 16 years of experience of working within the special educational needs sector, and was awarded the Headteacher of the Year Award in the ‘Professional Teaching Awards, Cymru’ in 2020.
Barbara is the proud Headteacher of around 400 children, aged 2-11. Having had opportunities to lead other kinds of schools and communities has broadened Barbara’s skillset and offered an appreciation of the ‘sameness’ of schools and the variety of differences to be managed.
Claire Slowther started her teaching career as a biology teacher at St Margaret’s school in Edinburgh. She completed her Headship Qualification in 2017 and took up post as Headteacher at Dunbar Grammar in 2018.
