About Sharon Beattie

I have 34 years teaching experience which ranges from 3 years to 18 years. I have taught at all stages of the Northern Ireland Curriculum. I have been a head teacher for 24 years in the early years sector. I am a flagship school for inclusion and diversity. I am involved in a range of research projects including ‘Boys Learning’, ‘Outdoor Learning through Nature’ and ‘Post Covid Trauma Informed Practice’. Outside of my professional teaching life I am a bereavement counsellor specialising in early years and families impacted by suicide. I use a blended approach which includes Activity Therapy and the Solihull Model. I have developed a programme for the early years to lower secondary for Trauma Informed Art Activities based on current research around brain development. I have experience in training and using the Coaching and Mentoring Approach for staff management and development. I can offer small to large group training in any of the afore mentioned areas.
