About Victoria Carr

I offer a distinctive blend of credible, values-driven system leadership and operational delivery, grounded in sustained practice rather than consultancy at arm’s length. I am a serving Headteacher with a strong track record of school improvement, staff development and inclusion, alongside national work in leadership development across education and defence. This dual role enables me to support schools, trusts and organisations with advice that is both strategically rigorous and practically workable, advice that I actively apply and test in complex, high-stakes environments.

My work focuses on leadership, culture, ethical decision-making, inclusion and organisational resilience. I am particularly effective in supporting schools and MATs navigating challenge, change or inspection, developing leadership capacity at all levels, and embedding improvement that is humane, sustainable and evidence-informed. I bring strong expertise in coaching, mentoring, governance support, professional learning design and staff culture, underpinned by doctoral-level research and extensive publication. As an author and researcher, I am skilled at translating theory into accessible, impactful practice that resonates with both senior leaders and frontline staff.

Alongside my educational leadership, I serve as a British Army Reserve Officer in the Intelligence Corps, working nationally on leadership education, moral courage, high-performing teams and professional standards. This experience strengthens my advisory work through a deep understanding of accountability, risk, decision-making under pressure and values-based leadership, all of which are increasingly relevant to schools and system leaders. Clients value my credibility, clarity and integrity, and the fact that I continue to “walk the walk” as a serving leader.

As an AOEA Registered Associate, I would bring independent, ethical and system-minded advisory support, rooted in lived leadership, scholarship and national perspective. I work flexibly across multiple phases and contexts, tailoring support to need rather than template, and I am committed to strengthening the profession through collaboration, challenge and compassion.
